ICYB representation at “The bee and a human” conference

The representatives of the association ICYB – International Centre for Young Beekeepers – participated in the international science education conference “The bee and a human“, which took place in Moscow in Russia from February 17 to February 18, 2017. Jiří Píza had a speech at the conference on the topic “The future of beekeeping is in the hands of the young generation”. The conference was held in the Science information centre and in the Technology institute of the Federal agency of science information and there were about 250 participants from more than 15 countries. The conference was organized by the Russian beekeeping association “Pčelovodstvo” and supported by the Agrobioprom company. During the general meeting there were 10 speakers and in total during the conference there were 34 speakers. Among the most important topics of the conference were identification of the main current problems in beekeeping, familiarization with different ways of beekeeping and with ways how to provide good quality of honey as well as how to detect quality of honey in particular participating countries. Thanks to the great work done by the organizers, there was also enough place to inform the participants of the conference about education and work with young beekeepers.
